Welcome to Wednesday Morning Art Class!!!
Cost: $20/Participant/Class
Step into the lush, imaginative world of Henri Rousseau in this hands-on art class at ADS. Often called a “naïve” artist, Rousseau was a self-taught painter known for his bold colors, flat perspectives, and dreamlike jungle scenes—many inspired by his imagination rather than real travel. In this class, participants will learn a bit about Rousseau’s life and unique style, then create their own playful, expressive artwork that celebrates storytelling, curiosity, and creative freedom. 🎨🌿
At ADS we value kindness, the creative process and community. We believe that making art promotes many valuable life skills, such as critical and creative thinking, communication, receiving constructive feedback, collaboration, accountability, and fine motor skills, just to name a few.
Each 2 hour class will consist of a brief art history lesson, a presentation of technique, followed by a project inspired by the lesson. All supplies will be included, unless otherwise discussed in advance. Each week, prior to class, I will post the artist/project we will be discussing and an example.
We ask that children under the age of 5, please have a parent stay to help them. The projects can be adjusted to accommodate all ages. Please bring a snack and a water bottle. For questions, please feel free to text or call me @ 608.350.9989
We look forward to sharing this creative adventure with you, as we explore art history, different mediums, techniques, expand our creative thinking and most importantly have fun!!!
Cost: $20/student/class
