July 20, 2025 – July 25, 2025
Join BillieJo for a creative week of stained and fused glass inspired by nature. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore techniques for cutting, grinding, foiling, and layering glass, using colors and textures inspired by the outdoors. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll combine stained glass and fused elements, bringing rich texture and vibrant color into each unique piece. The week wraps up with cleaning and polishing, revealing a beautifully luminous artwork reflecting nature’s essence.
Day 1 – July 20: Inspiration
The first evening will be a meet & greet. We will get to know each other and brainstorm about the project.
Day 2 – July 21: Design/Paint/Pick Glass
On day two, we will discuss design, the painting process & the varieties of glass. We will then design our windows, pick out glass & paint the glass tile. If time allows, we will practice cutting glass.
Day 3 – July 22: Quick Field Trip to the Artist’s Studio: Cutting & Grinding
We will transport the tiles to the artist’s studio to file them. The firing process takes about 30 hours. If every piece is dry and kiln-ready, this could potentially happen on day 2. After the field trip, we will begin cutting and grinding glass.
Day 4 – July 23: Foiling/Soldering/Tile Pick-Up
This will be a work day. We will learn about foiling and soldering. At the end of the day, I will collect the tiles. Anyone who would like to take another trip to the studio is welcome to join.
Day 5 – July 24: Work Day
This is a work day. This is an exciting day, as we will begin to see our visions take shape.
Day 6 – July 25: The Grand Finale
Today we finish! Patina, polish, frame & admire!!
We will be pleased to guide you through the process and help you create beautiful art and friendships!
